Financial Education

Wooden man taking the steps towards learning more about his financial future

About the course

The Money Educators offer one-on-one coaching course to people who want to take control of their money and become financially secure. We can do this online, or face to face, or both.

For some people, we can deal with everything in one meeting, but most people like to sign up for a one-to-one coaching course, because it gives them ongoing support and guidance.

You can stay with us for as long as you need to, but we don’t require you to sign up for years at a time. During this course you will built knowledge in the following main areas

Budgeting and debt

This is a crucial part of the course. Almost everyone needs to know more about  budgeting and debt. This will help you see how you are managing your income, expenses and debts. One the the crucial parts of this is doing and maintaining your budget.

If you have never done a budget or want a budget template then go to the download section below and download our budget template.

Financial Education Continued

Wooden man taking the steps towards learning more about his financial future

Once we have helped you to develop your budgeting skills we move onto:

Building your superannuation skills

Superannuation is the key to your future. The course will give you the facts about your superannuation fund or funds, including:

- the different types of fees that are charged

- how your fund invests your money and how you can make changes to your investment strategy if you chose to.

Educating you about risk

There is always some uncertainty about how an investment will perform over time, and some types of investments are more volatile than others. Knowing how to wait out periods of poor performance and how long to keep investments can make a big difference.

You need to know how much risk you want to take with your investments—and the consequences of taking that risk. This course will help you understand.

Making sure you know about insurance

If necessary, we may provide you with education on insurance. This will be focused on the different types of insurance that are available, their features, and the different ways in which you can ‘own’ them.

Educating you about other investments

We can also help you to develop your knowledge of investments outside of superannuation, such as cash, shares and investment properties.

The problems we solve

The main problems we solve for my clients relate to:

  • Decision paralysis. Sometimes there seems to be too many choices or not enough good options. we can help you find a way forward.

  • Confusion and complexity.  We simplify financial terms, jargon and concepts so you can make sense of them and make the most of what they represent.

  • Lack of confidence and fear of making the wrong decisions. We can provide a sounding board for you to confirm the decisions you are making are the right ones. Sometimes, we mediate with couples and groups so that they can hear each other before they make their decisions.

Many people are already on the right track. They just need to have this confirmed.

Others need more education to get them on the correct path. Then, they can take control of their own financial future.

How does it work?

Two business people looking at reports to find out more information

The one-to-one coaching course is based around discussions and meetings that will help you stay on track and in charge.

We offer three levels of one-to-one coaching courses (Bronze, Silver or Gold) depending on your needs. Each level will be tailored to you each each level will provide you with the following

Telephone and email support

You will receive 12 months of telephone and email support. This means you can contact us during this course and discuss any concerns or ideas you may have.

Education roadmap

You will be provided with an education roadmap at the start of the course. The education roadmap will show you what to expect over the course and when you should expect it. It defines who is responsible for completing the task that need to be done to get you to where you want to be.

Asset and income snapshot

The asset and income snapshot gives you a view of your current financial position. It will be provided at the start of the course but also updated at each of our meetings. This is to give you a sense of your overall financial wellbeing and to identify any areas where your financial position could be improved.

Historical portfolio report

This report provides a view of how your financial portfolios are tracking over time. It tracks things like your investment property value, superannuation values, shares, managed funds, and your cash position. The report is provided at the start of the course and is updated at every meeting.

This report is designed to show any issues that you may be having with your financial assets. Because we are meeting regularly any poor performing assets are identified and decisions can be made about them, before they have a major impact on your financial future.

Financial Forecaster

We may complete a Financial Forecaster for you at the start of you course. This will help to give you an indication of how your financial situation is progressing and highlight any areas you might need to make changes.

Using the Financial Forecaster, you can try different scenarios to see how they stack up without having to commit to a strategy.

You can update your Financial Forecaster during the year at an additional cost.
